SPAIN WINS THE
2023 FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP!

On Sunday 20 August 2023, Spain made history. Captain Olga Carmona’s goal proved to be enough as they beat England 1-0 to win their first-ever World Cup.

At only their 3rd appearance at the World Cup, they managed to go all the way. Their previous best was reaching the Round of 16 in 2019.

Sorry England, I guess it’s not coming home.

The Headlines

Whether you like him or not, Messi knows how to win.

He came off the bench to make his debut and scored the winning goal in Inter Miami’s first game of the 2023 Leagues Cup.

He has since scored in every single game of Inter Miami’s cup run and helped them to lift this piece of silverware. He also received extra silverware by winning the tournament’s Best Player and Top Goalscorer Awards.

Transfer Talk

Liverpool boosts their midfield.

The transfer of Moisés Caicedo has finally been completed. Liverpool has long been the favourite to land the signature of the Ecuadorian, but instead he opted for Chelsea.

Liverpool then put their sights on Southampton’s Roméo Lavia but again Chelsea swooped in and stole the deal.

Perhaps not their first choice, but Liverpool acquire the services of former Stuttgart captain, Wataru Endo.

Neymar joins Al-Hilal

He remains the most expensive transfer in the history of football when he joined PSG in 2017. I still can’t believe he was at PSG for 6 years. Two more years than his time at Barcelona.

Standing Ovation

A Captain who leads by example 🇪🇸

She scored the winning goal in the 89th min against Sweden in the semi-finals.

She scored the match-winning goal and was selected as the player of the match in the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
